Norman Cross Guided Walk
Join our Volunteers for a guided walk around the fascinating site of the Norman Cross Napoleonic Prison Depot. Our passionate volunteers will bring the story of this unique heritage site to life.
The walk lasts around 1 hour and is free to attend, although donations are very welcome to help support our work. Spaces are limited to 20 people, so booking is essential.
Please note: The site is accessed through a gate and the ground is uneven with long grass, so suitable footwear is recommended. There are no public toilets on site, and parking is limited, so please use public transport where possible.
FAQs
You can park at the Milestone Hotel, just off London Road a short walk to the Norman Cross site. It costs £2 to park there for up to 4 hours.
There are no toilet or cafe facilities at Norman Cross currently but there are pubs nearby in Yaxley.
You access the entrance via a slight slope from the pavement to the gate. The welcome area is surfaced with gravel – uneven in places. The tour takes you around the Norman Cross site which is a grassed field with areas of long grass. Please wear appropriate footwear.
