Get involved in Peterborough Celebrates Festival
Peterborough Celebrates Festival is back for its 5th year, bringing music, performances and community joy to Ferry Meadows over the weekend of 16th and 17th May, all within the overarching theme of ‘The Year of Storytelling’.
Linking in with the National Year of Reading, the festival planning team are busy weaving storytelling into the exciting line up, championing the stories, voices, and creativity of our city, and you are all invited to join in! There are plenty of ways to get involved in the lead-up to and during the festival weekend, helping to share your story and the story of our city.
Get creative with our Community Art Project
We’re proud to have launched this year’s festival community creative project – ‘My Page in Peterborough’s Story’ – and invite schools, youth groups, community groups, care homes, organisations, families and individuals to get involved. How about crafting a poem or a mini story that reflects your experience in the city? Or paint a picture of a place in Peterborough that is special to you? All you need to do is download our story page template, or get in touch at festivals@neneparktrust.org.uk to find out more, get creative and then return your completed page to the Trust by 1st May. All completed storybook pages will be displayed over the festival weekend in a vibrant story tunnel which visitors will be able to walk through and explore. Will you be able to spot your story? What other stories will you learn?
Perform at the Festival
Could you or your community group perform and bring your story to the festival? There are still slots available on both stages across the weekend. We want to hear from singers, choirs, bands, dancers, comedians, poets, acrobats or acts that will excite and delight our festival visitors!
Become a Festival Volunteer!
Could you volunteer some time over the weekend? The festival is run by staff and volunteers who make sure that the weekend runs smoothly, visitors are welcomed and the site is kept clean and tidy. There is always room for extra pairs of hands, and you’ll get great satisfaction of being part of the supportive, friendly team that deliver this great community festival.
Join our Vendors
A wide variety of festival food and craft vendors are already signed up, but there is still space for more! Get in touch if you’d like to find out about having a pitch over the weekend.
The festival would also love to showcase community groups and local organisations, so please get in touch if you would like a stall to shout about the great work you do in Peterborough.
Be a Festival Sponsor
We’re committed to keeping the festival as free-to-attend for all, but to deliver the best festival possible, the team is keen to hear from local organisations willing to sponsor. From supporting different performances or stages to helping with infrastructure costs, do get in touch to discuss and you will get plenty of brand exposure in return.
More details about the festival line up and what to expect over the weekend will be announced very soon, but until then you can find all the details of how you can get involved in all the areas mentioned here at our festival event page
Or get in touch with the festival team at festivals@neneparktrust.org.uk with any queries about volunteering, sponsoring, performing or the community creative project.
