We’re celebrating being recognised as a fantastic organisation to work for – twice in one week! Firstly as a finalist in ‘The Employer of the Year’ category in the Peterborough Telegraph Business Excellence Awards and secondly, achieving gold-level Investors in People accreditation for the second time!
With 99% of our staff team saying in our latest staff survey that they’re proud to work for the Trust and 93% agreeing that Nene Park Trust is a great place to work, we feel confident that we’re delivering a brilliant environment to work in – and this has been recognised in the Peterborough Telegraph Business Excellence awarding shortlist. Being among the top 17% of employers in the UK recognised with a Gold Investors in People accreditation too is also testament to the Trust’s dedication to our employees, nurturing them from the point of recruitment through to ongoing training and development opportunities. Following a recent rigorous audit, with interviews with staff across the organisation, we have just received the news that we’ve retained Gold Level for the second time, with a number of aspects pointing firmly in the direction of Platinum level – a massive achievement all round.

We’re also celebrating a third achievement – being a finalist for the ‘Social Enterprise of the Year’ Peterborough Telegraph award with Nene Nursery – the new community plant nursery on the edge of Ferry Meadows. We’re very proud to be recognised for our achievements in developing this exciting community space and improving wellbeing through a range of regular therapeutic and horticulture sessions there. The plant nursery was created from an old wood yard just over a year ago and is now a calm and beautiful nursery complete with raised beds, polytunnel and undercover meeting area, which has now reached 548 people from across Peterborough. Through its innovative use of space, commitment to sustainability, and focus on therapeutic and inclusive programming, the nursery has become a beloved community asset.
Whatever the outcome of the Peterborough Telegraph awards ceremony on the 21 November, the team here at Nene Park Trust feel very proud to be two-time finalists at the event and to be recognised once again as a Gold level organisation through their Investors in People Accreditation.
